Pakistan floods fundraiser

Abu Ibraheem Hussnayn – Pakistan floods fundraiser

Extremely heavy rainfall has led to catastrophic flash flooding across many parts of Pakistan. Hundreds are dead and injured, with thousands more displaced and in need of humanitarian assistance. Now over 30 million people need emergency help.

I’m Working in the Flood Affected Regions of Sindh, Pakistan Right Now, I’m on the ground helping as many people as possible.

I am making a plea to you all, let us help the poor and needy who have been affected by the constant rainfall and floods. This is a huge disaster which no one expected, the flood destroyed homes and people’s livelihoods in various parts of Pakistan.

Right now, people are living through torrential rains nonstop day and night. Some areas are completely submerged underwater. Many people have lost their lives, homes, and belongings. They have turned to the streets with whatever furniture and belongings they could save. Out on the streets is another challenge for them as they search for tents, tarpaulin, plastic or anything to protect themselves from the rain. Then there is hunger, all the wood they used for making fires is wet, they lost their makeshift stoves and most of their foodstuff has perished.

The people of Pakistan need emergency food as they are starving and have nothing to put in their stomachs. They need shelter in the form of tents or tarpaulin to protect themselves and their belongings from the rain. Many children have become sick due to the constant rain and floods and lack of nutritious foods and clean drinking water, diarrhoea has violently spread all over these flood-affected regions of Sindh, and they need medicines and health care. Their clean water sources have been demolished by the floods and rains which are causing dehydration, they urgently need clean drinking water. Their homes have been destroyed; they are living on the side of roads (higher grounds). Children, men, and women are being bitten daily and constantly by mosquitoes they need mosquito nets in huge quantities.

The people of Pakistan need your Help now. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “…Whoever relieves a Muslim of distress, Allah will relieve him of distress on the Day of Resurrection.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari & Muslim)

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Humanity Care Relief to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Humanity Care Relief we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree to Humanity Care Relief reclaiming the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Humanity Care Relief will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Humanity Care Relief receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we are entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf,  you do not have to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax claimed will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
