GLOBAL WATER EMERGENCY APPEAL

Hundreds of children die every day due to not having access to clean drinking water. However, with reliable access to clean water, these lives can be saved. Provide clean water by building a well, or a pump or sponsoring a water tank in your name or that of a loved one.

Through our water projects, we’re building wells or providing water tanks in countries across the world. We have a team of volunteers on the ground in Pakistan, Yemen, Kashmir, Africa and Syrian Refugee Camps who are building water wells or providing water tanks daily. These water projects are providing safe water to drink, wash, clean, grow crops and hydrate animals. This can lead to healthier lives, a better chance to go to school or work and a route out of poverty.

Lack of access to safe drinking water is a major concern in Pakistan, Kashmir, Yemen, Africa and Syrian Refugee Camps. It is one of the primary causes of millions of deaths.

Around 70% of the African population does not have access to clean drinking water; only 29% of the urban population has access to improved drinking water, while only 10% in rural areas have access to clean drinking water.

Sadaqah Jariyah is a form of charity which will provide you with rewards for as long as people benefit from the project. The Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) said:

“When a man passes away, his good deeds will also come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah; a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous child who prays for him.”

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Humanity Care Relief receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we are entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, you do not have to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax claimed will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
